My dearest dear readers,Thank you to those of you who filled out my Google form.It has come to my attention however that a lot of my readers are under the age of 18. While I am flattered and deeply humbled by the amount of traction this story has gained, if you are under 18 and reading this right now, as much as I am extremely grateful for your readership, I cannot let you read much more.As accessible as porn, nudity, adult content and a whole host of other things are on the web, I do not want to play a part in giving easy access for minors to view the very detailed chapter-by-chapter account of a 16 year old’s sexual exploration. I already shudder every time I go on Twitter, and someone posts a pornographic video or image - and there is nothing on Twitter that protects minors such as yourselves from these.I have researched into this and unfortunately Wattpad and AO3 does not have age verification. I have also looked into other plugins for websites for age verifcation and the most you will get is literally what you get on a porn site - “You must be 18 years old to enter. Yes. No.” - and literally any 14 year old can click “Yes”. For WordPress, which has seemed the most logical and easiest place for me to transpose Earthquake to, I only have 2 options for plugins and once again, anyone can just make up an age and DOB and gain access. One I found was more extensive but only limited to verifying people in the UK. And the only good one I found would need me to have my own domain and would also charge monthly and per verification.I have said this before and I will say it again: I am an adult writing adult (fan) fiction for adults.As you already know, dear reader, I don’t do things by halves. And my smut, I hope you’ve found, isn’t smut at all: it is something a lot more realistic, awkward, explicit, slow, tender, careful, nervous - as sex is.I am and have always been highly aware that I am a 25+ year old woman writing about the sexual exploration of a 16 year old boy with an 18 year old boy. One of my best friends is an active gay man and he proofreads anything I am unsure about because, I know I’m writing fiction but everything within this world needs to be (for me, as the author) as realistic as possible. The love you sense between Hinata and Oikawa needs to be realistic, the setting, the conflict of emotions needs to be realistic - and the sex needs to be realistic as well.And the sex I am about to write is not appropriate for anyone under the age of 18.Not only that, the sex between Hinata and Oikawa will be a story within itself, Hinata continuing his journey through his sexual awakening - and there will be more drama, more smut and more angst. I will be imposing adult themes, complexes, emotions and problems onto fictional teenage characters - and these themes, smut aside, are not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. The possibility of some light BDSM - again, not suitable for under 18s.Therefore I will use the only solution that I have.After a lot of research I found that under 18s cannot have a credit or debit card without parental control. And I really doubt most reliable parents want their kids reading explicit sex. And so, I’m going to put the new home for my work that is Earthquake on Ko-fi and only those who have a credit or debit card will be able to access this.While this works for some, it does not work for all. In the UK where I am, there are lots of different types of bank accounts for different ages and some are limited to cash cards and then it gets slightly complicated -So I am asking, wholeheartedly, if you are under 18 and for whatever reason have hold of a debit card to not tip me or continue reading EQ until you are older.Please.I don’t feel comfortable with the thought of minors reading what is about to happen next - emotionally, physically and mentally.I am aware that I am writing fiction. And one of the beauties of fan fiction especially is the freedom in which you can write things that may be taboo or questionable in the real world. I know this. I’m aware of it. And I can make that separation. I am just aware that younger, growing, developing minds may not make this distinction so clearcut.The thought of me imagining a 16 and 18 year old human having sex in real life repulses me. Those are still children in my eyes.But writing a 16 and an 18 year old anime boy having sex - pouring out all my imagination, experience and fantasy into this - is hot and cathartic for me as the writer.And if you can’t make this distinction you are most probably under 18.Hinata and Oikawa are not real. This whole story is fake. And I’m so, so comfortable with that. But I am not comfortable with being the one to expose younger minds to the adult experiences, sensations and emotions I am about to impart onto these characters in such great and lengthy detail.If I was writing sex between adults that would feel better: younger minds could be able to sense that this is something for adults later in life. But minors reading the sex of teens that I will have imparted feelings beyond their years, adulthood, onto - it doesn’t sit right with me.So I implore you, dear reader, if you are under 18 to please come back when you are a little older and if anything to protect your mind as much as you can. Innocence is unfortunately such a rarity these days. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be a minor growing up in today’s world which is bombarded non-stop with expectation and sexualisation with no safeguarding (yes I’m talking about music videos, lyrics, Twitter, Instagram and the whole freakin’ web).Thank you, as always, to all of you for your readership, comments, kudos and support.I hope you respect this decision I have made as the author.Here are the last two chapters that I will share with easy access: Chapter 30 and 31Thank you.Your writer,SQXxx
